How I price · By Fawaz Alesayi

How I price, and why.

Everything about how I charge, on one page. If something I tell you on a call doesn’t match what is written here, hold me to the page.

The first conversation is free

We talk by phone or video, or meet in person if you are in Jeddah. You explain the business, I ask a lot of questions, and by the end you have my honest read on what to build first and roughly what it would cost.

There is no charge and no obligation. If a ready-made tool fits you better than custom software, that is what I’ll recommend.

Milestones with a fixed price

I split the project into milestones, each one something you can use or try: a working booking flow, an admin screen, a store release. For each milestone I estimate the hours and multiply by SAR 250. That gives a fixed price, and you see every milestone’s price before I start it.

Meetings, requirements, building, testing and deployment are all included. No VAT is added under my current terms.

You pay after delivery

I invoice a milestone once it is delivered and you have had a chance to try it. You never pay in advance for work you haven’t seen.

If a milestone takes me longer than I estimated, its price stays the same.

Changes are priced before they are built

New ideas come up mid-project, and that is normal. When one does, I tell you what it adds in hours and price, and you decide whether it goes in now, later or not at all.

Nothing appears on an invoice that you didn’t agree to first.

Everything is in your name

The code repository, hosting, domains and store accounts are created in your name from day one, and I am added as a collaborator. Running costs go straight to the providers, with nothing added by me.

You can stop after any milestone and keep everything built up to that point.

An example

Say a booking app has three milestones: the booking flow (60 hours), payments and notifications (40 hours), and the admin tools and store release (50 hours). The prices would be SAR 15,000, SAR 10,000 and SAR 12,500, each paid when that milestone is delivered.

These numbers are only an illustration. Your project’s milestones come out of our first conversation.

Questions before starting

Why not bill by the hour?

Because you would carry the risk of my estimate being wrong. With a fixed price per milestone, you know the cost before the work starts.

Why not one price for the whole project?

A single price for a large project has to include a buffer for everything that might go wrong, and you pay for that buffer either way. Pricing one milestone at a time keeps each estimate small enough to be accurate and lets you change direction between milestones.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
